Overall Store Of The Year 2015-2016
XL Sallynoggin
XL Sallynoggin store was crowned Overall Winner, taking home the top prize for achieving the highest standards nationally at the recent XL Store of the Year Awards.
Fazul Chisty’s store in Sallynoggin, Co Dublin was praised by judges for its friendly customer service, excellent deli and chilled departments and dedication to quality and presentation throughout the store. The store is known locally for the excellent all-round experience it provides to each shopper. The store also won a second award for Best Promotional Offering.
Fazul said, “I’m absolutely thrilled to win, over the moon. It’s a big surprise, I had no idea we were in line to win it. I’d like to thank my great team of staff, they really are second to none.”
C-Store Manager of the Year 2015
Matthew Monaghan of XL Texaco Salthill has been named C-Store Manager of the Year 2015 (small store category up to 2,000 sq ft) for the second year running, by independent trade magazine, Shelflife as part of the GRAM Awards
Celebrating 10 years, the Grocery Retail Awards in Management (GRAM) is the first and only national management award scheme exclusively devoted to recognising the best managers in the Irish retail, wholesale and off-licence sectors.
Matthew was recognised amongst hundreds of retail managers across the country as being a standout leader within the Irish retail grocery industry and is no stranger to industry accolades having previously received the GRAM Staff Development Award in 2013.
Checkout’s Best in Fresh Award 2015
Checkout magazine’s annual ‘Best in Fresh’ Awards, celebrating excellence across the FMCG sector, saw success for Dermot Mulhall from Mighty Mol’s XL, Dublin Road, Mountrath, who took home the Best in Fresh award for Best Forecourt. The Fresh Industry Award judges said: “The star of the show is the in-store bakery, with an amazing range of delicious cakes and breads and real evidence of creativity.
